In John 10, Jesus starts by describing the Shepherd’s responsibilities and his relationship with the sheep. The amazing part every time is that the sheep ‘know’ the shepherd’s voice. This can only be through spending time around that voice.
In chapter 12:27-29, we see God talk and only Jesus recognizes His voice. This action wasn’t for Jesus but only he could pick God’s voice. Why? Only He could recognize the voice because He had spent time around it.
In this dispensation, our spirit is recreated, we have crossed from death to life and because our spirits are now alive, God’s spirit can communicate with us (1 Corinthians 2:11-14).
Communication is not the end. In fact it is only the beginning. As we begin to communicate with the Spirit of God, we continue to grow in knowledge of God’s will and this growth is a continuous process (Colossians 1:9-13).
Enjoy the process but be intentional about growth. The only way you can pick a message from the many sound waves in the air is if you’re tuned to the channel.
God bless you!
