Love (even your enemies)!!!

I know I’ve talked about love and relationships quite a bit but this is different. This talks about unconditional love with SOLID scriptural backing – that is one of the many reasons I admire our next writer Godswork! Apart from that I like the fact that he tries his possible best to please God – wait for this – not when its convenient but ALL the time. Besides he’s an amazing writer … There’s a link to some more of his work at the end. Plus I absolutely ADORE his accent!!! 😀 Lol … Okay read!!!

Don’t fight your enemies with hate and resentment, indifference and revenge; rather let your act of love and care for them, do the work for you.
It is now not a suprise why Jesus said ”Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”, for now we know that by doing good to those who least deserve it, you heap coals of fire on their head. Suprised by your generosity, they will be ashamed of what they have done to you.
Truly speaking, it is annoying, painful, and hurting when you have people like that around you, that it seems reciprocal to hate back. But this is what the Lord says “vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord”.
Take some time to think about how the world will be when we all behave in one way-hating ourselves. Let’s learn to play our role, and leave God to finish the business. For this reason we should not  let evil get the best of us, but conquer evil by doing good. This might seem unrealistic, considering the fact that some people just like offending, and seemingly derive pleasure in coining evil from their heart. Clearly speaking on this, God said “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked”. so it appears that everyone is suited to work out or do evil and wickedness. But we who are in christ have received a new heart, as it is written,“And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart.  And I will put my Spirit in you so you will obey my laws and do whatever I command”. For those who become Christians become new
persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun. We don’t behave like the world,or copy its standards, but we are transformed daily to behave like God (by constantly renewing our mind with His word), who loves us no matter what, showing his unbeatable love by sending His only begotten son to die for us. Even when we reject him, He does not reject us, but still shower his love on us. God wants us to Love just like He would. He does this to show us an example, that when we love like Him, we live like Him.
When we love those who wrong us, we are  acting as true children of our Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect .
Always know that God will not tell you to do what He has not done before, and that if He tells you to do anything He has already provided you with the power you need to fulfil that task.
Every action we take has a motive behind it, this motive shows the genuinety of your action. In line with this, we should love those that least deserve it, because God loved us and still loves us even though we least deserve it.
Truly speaking,God is the perfect definition of love, for God is love.
I admonish you to love, now not your enemies alone, but all that demands your love, especially loving the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And moreso you should love your neighbour as you would yourself. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.

Here are some more notes from Godswork!!! Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. And don’t be just a reader, take action!!! Go out and love today(yes even your enemies) – UNCONDITIONALLY!!!

‘Behind every burden is a blessing waiting to be birthed. Don’t abort the blessing because of the labour pains’
– Marshawn Evans

Perseverance is key to success! You have to endure ridicule and some trials before you can fully appreciate your success in the end but don’t give up on your dream just because the road seems a little (or a lot) rough at that moment. Take a deep breath and move forward – one step at a time.
Have a great week and happy mother’s day to all my mums!!!

Provoke God???

Yes I said it – Provoke God!
Provoke God to bless you!!
That’s the only way you can get away with ‘provoking’ God!!!

All my life, I’ve known one basic fact … DO NOT TEST GOD! Yet Gideon tested him and practically got away with it. I guess I just believe that Gideon was an exceptional case. But God does like to be reminded of His word. It provokes Him to fulfil His word. Check out the Israelites in the desert … In verse 13-19, Moses reminded God of what He had done for the Israelites ,how great His power is and how the ‘other nations’ revere Him. Then He worshipped Him and yet again reminded Him of His word … Result? God changed His mind. Yes! He actually did change His mind. But note that God still punished the Israelites for their faithlessness but He kept His promise and fulfilled His word. That’s all that matters
In light of this, we should realise two major things … God always fulfils His word. Provoke Him to bless you by declaring His word and claiming His promises in your situations … He is sure to bless you. But before you can declare the word, you have to know the word. We need to meditate on the word day and night and store it in our hearts. We need to learn how to apply the word to basic everyday situations so that when we want to recall it, as practical as it has become, it is easy. Secondly, there is a consequence for every action … If you do well, you are blessed. Do badly, you are cursed. It’s the law of action and reaction but the beautiful thing about being a Christian is the mercy of God. We can always go back after repentance and ask for forgiveness. And we all know that His grace is sufficient but do not abuse this privilege. Look at the Israelites and the number of times they murmured against God yet God in His infinite mercy kept forgiving them. Even in the Numbers passage, he forgave them but here, He still gave them the punishment they deserved to remind them that He alone is God and because He loved them, He did not want them to go astray.
Basically, meditate on God’s word and apply it to EVERYDAY life so that when you need something or you just want to bless the name of the Lord, you can provoke His blessings upon yourself as well.
