I guess you’ve figured out by now that today’s writer is the pretty Miss Demiladeayo. Before I continue, let me mention again how much I love her name. Oluwademiladeayo – it’s a mouthful but a very beautiful name. Anyway I digress – Engineer Adeayo is a sweet spirit and an amazing writer (you should know by now that our write-ins are by amazing writers 😉 ). She blogs at demiladeayo.com. Make sure you check it out – there’s something for everyone.

Here’s Deayo’s take on ‘Love always protects’!

The statement ‘love always protects’ immediately brings to mind the image of a mother and the love for her child.

The word of God says that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

It is always amazing to watch a mother come to the defence of her child to ensure that he or she is well protected from the cold, he or she is not hungry and he or she is emotionally stable- that is what a true mother would do. It is the same when we are truly in love with someone- we always want to protect that person; either the person’s image or the person’s love. Even when we are hurting there is always this sense of “May nothing bad ever happen to this person I love”, because we could not bear losing such a person.

How much more is God’s love for us? Even when we fall short and we think we would be left defenceless and alone. Even when we fall short and we think God is so angry as to allow the forces of darkness and evil deal with us; he promises- “I will never leave you nor forsake you“- because real love protects.

The word of God also says that perfect love drives out all fear.

The protective nature of love always helps us to feel at peace and guarded. We know that we are never alone. We know that our steps are ordered by the Lord.

Remember all those fairy-tale movies we watched were the wicked queen tries to harm the humble princess and the charming prince tries to save her? No matter the tragedy that unfolds at the end of the day, love always wins and they live happily ever after.

victory vchip in grace

Love never fails because God never fails. God’s love will never fail you when you need it the most. And because nothing can separate you from the love of God you are more than a conqueror.

Love is usually depicted as a fairy tale anyway and with our God, there’s victory always!!! Never forget that – EVER!!! God’s love wins over all – even faith and hope 😉

‘’Love never fails.’’

Today’s piece is by my G baby, G mama, my one and only Glory!!!! She’s an amazing human being and is literally a ball of energy …. I’m pretty sure I might haave gotten on her nerves aa few times but she stills loves me. Another thing, she’s an amazing story teller so we always have fun writing stories and scripts together. Well, I’ve been known to have a tendency of talking too much so let’s just get on with Glory’s take on ‘Love is not easily angered’.

Love is not easily angered: Love never fails.

Teju was scared – Scared to the bone!!! You know that feeling you have when you know obviously that there is no escape plan. There is no excuse, no lie you can tell to defend yourself. There is actually no use of trying. This is it. This is it! It’s the Last and final time. In short no more time. Have you ever been in those shoes?!

Well Teju was in it. How could she have done it again?  After everything?! How could she have been so stupid?! Stupid is even an understatement because her eyes were opened. Fully opened! She knew what she was doing but damned the consequences. Funny part is that she knew she was being watched. Yes! She knew. But still the pleasure just for a moment clouded the treasure for the long time. She so wanted it badly. Did you get that?! She WANTed it badly yet her NEED was met!

She took hold of her want blind siding her need. And after the pleasure yet still not satisfied, what does she do next?!

 2016-06-24 12.22.30

You thought right!!

Oh No she didn’t, (Oh Yes she did!)

Why should she?! (Why shouldn’t she?).

She had messed up (haven’t you?! Severally?!! Don’t judge!)

Others had rejected her, even the pleasure had used her up (Can’t you relate) The best thing was to run away but she tried her need.

Walking towards her last option, head bowed, heart pumping hard, hands shaking.. She stood face to face.

She: (head bowed, tears flowing) I’ve messed up

Need: I know

She: I don’t know what came over me.

Need: (silence)

She: (starts ranting) I’m sorry! Truly and deeply sorry. I can’t do this any longer. I’m tired. Really tired. I’m a mess … I know you are tired of me too. I know you are angry. I know you don’t even want me…

Need: I am not angry!

And as she finally lifted her head up, she beheld the face but couldn’t understand what she was seeing. The bright face with the huge smile, shining white teeth, sparkling blue eyes with hands stretched out for a welcoming hug. She was perplexed.

And all she could say was WHY?!

Why are you welcoming me?! Who exactly are You?!

I AM.

I AM sees beyond your pleasures and into your Heart.. Remember I am spirit and know all things.

I AM understands your situations… Remember I came as a man to walk through those paths.

So I know how it feels that’s why I don’t get angry easily.

I turn your mess into my Message,

I am your Need and not your Want…

And when you finally seek Need…

I am Found… I have always been here… Remember I will always be with YOU.

So I definitely do not fail…

Because I AM…

LOVE

         Love doesn’t get angry easily (1Cor 13:5)

         Love certainly doesn’t fail (1Cor 13:8)

Just recognize your need…God is Love

  • Glory

Just because love isn’t easily angered doesn’t mean we should provoke love to anger. No aspect of love is independent of the other as you might have noticed by now. Because love is patient, it is not easily angered and because it is not self-seeking, it doesn’t seek to anger as well. So I’ll leave you with Gee’s words again:

‘Just recognise your need … God is LOVE’ and

‘’Love never fails.’’

‘’It does not dishonour others …’’

I am personally enjoying this series. From short poems to long narratives, we’re being forced to confront our definition of love. Here’s another practical love piece by Victory Osarumwense. I call her my song sister 🙂 She blogs at veekhythinks.wordpress.com

With no further ado, here’s what Veekhy thinks:

On a very normal day as you sit thinking about your life, you receive a message from your bank saying your account has been credited with Ghc 4,000 (N 287898.56 ) from a very unfamiliar name. The fact is this money can change your status but there is a small problem; the voice that is telling you that this can only be a mistake. However, there is another voice, you say this one is the voice of the spirit and you nod as it tells you that this is an answer to the favour provoking prayers you made last Sunday. In fact, you knew it… you knew that God had no choice but to answer you as you recall screaming repeatedly

‘Lord, slap me with your hand of favour.

From the north, slap me!

From the east, slap me!!

From the west, slap me!!!’

This God is just too good. I mean how else can one describe this other than the supernatural hand of God slapping this money into your account by making the payer misdial some numbers? You fall on your knees and start rehearsing how you would give this testimony in front of those sisters who think for some reason that they are better than you. Of course, this is how you would start

“pra, prai, prai…. se the Lord, i said, pra, prai, prai……. se the Lord…’’

PAUSE.

The invigilator announces 15 minutes more and you know, you just know that you are dead. You have no explanation for the blank sheet in front of you. It is not that you did not read for this exam, it is just that you did not read this topic which happened to be the lecturer’s sole focus.

You begin to recite

‘I would look up to the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from…’

That’s when you hear it. It is your faithful God-sent friend whispering your name. He says he has finished and can help you out. This is it… My help cometh from the Lord, but God cannot come down and supply the answers now, he works through men. That is one thing you are very sure of in this your Christian walk. He walks through men and we must shine our eyes to recognize these men when God is working through them.

PAUSE.

Someone once said,

“Live life knowing that God’s glory is actually at stake”

And for the life of me, I had never really seen things that way. I was just thinking about how different things would be if we actually lived even the very minute details of their lives knowing that God’s glory is at stake. That we are representatives of God on earth and we owe him a duty not to soil or bring dishonour to his name.

After all, the greatest commandment is to love God with all your soul, heart and mind, so why not prove your love to him by living to bring honour and not dishonour to his name (love does not dishonour).

Now go back. Press play on the two scenarios above. What would you do?

Sometimes in life, we need to press pause and savor the moments with our loved ones, other times we need to press pause and consider if our actions show love so I’d leave you in one of Veekhy’s scenes – What would you do?

‘’Love never fails.’’

TRUE LOVE

This year I dubbed my ‘Year of Love Unlimited’ and God’s been teaching me about love in different amazing ways! Read this and be blessed!!!

Evainspired

Ever watched a movie and felt like “No, don’t do that” “it shouldn’t have happened that way” “if he had done it like this, it’ll have been better” Anyone?  Okay so I’m watching this movie and I pause for a moment. And for the very first time, I understand what it must feel like for God up there in heaven. When we make all the wrong decisions and go the wrong way, He’s probably just there saying “No! Don’t!” “It won’t turn out well” Like Duhh! He already knows the end from the beginning.
And with this realization comes a new found respect for God. When there’s a character in a movie or series that I’m attached to, I almost wish I had the power to reach in there and stop him from making that wrong move. Then I remember that I don’t have a say. It’s…
